El equipo de SubC ayuda a explorar los montes submarinos de las profundidades del océano

Off the coast of Vancouver Island, a team of scientists from Fisheries and Oceans Canada is conducting an exploratory mission collecting the first-ever underwater footage of the Union and Dellwood seamounts. The team will be broadcasting their research via a live stream, that will take viewers 2 kilometers under the ocean! The crew will be capturing these historical images with the aid of SubC Imaging’s cutting edge subsea technology such as the 1Cam MK6, Aquorea MK2, and the Rayfin, three of which are connected to the team’s drop-camera mount simply known as “BOOTS”.

Esta investigación ayudará a evaluar los niveles de las especies que viven alrededor de estos puntos calientes de diversidad biológica. De este modo, se obtendrá una valiosa información sobre los hábitats marinos canadienses que ayudará a los científicos a comprender mejor los montes submarinos regionales y a planificar y gestionar futuras áreas marinas protegidas.
